All students are welcome to take part in enrichment activities that allow you to:
• Develop skills and abilities that are highly valued by universities and employers
• Relax and enjoy your time at college
• Support the work of students younger than yourself
• Make new friends and meet different people in this country or abroad
• Extend you studies and gain other qualifications
Activities will include:
Recreational Sport
With excellent indoor and outdoor facilities you may wish to try out Kick Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Sailing, Canoeing, Gorge Walking, Rock Climbing or other regular sports such as Basketball, Hockey, Football, Golf, Tennis or Trampolining.
College Productions
College productions will give you the opportunity to act, sing, dance or perhaps work behind the scenes on lighting, sound and stage design. You could also get involved with school bands, choirs and student radio workshops as part of an enrichment programme.
European Exchange
Modern language students can go on culture visits and exchanges to other countries in Europe. You could even live and work in France or Spain for a real taste of life abroad.
Cultural Trips
Students will be given opportunities to participate in a range of cultural experiences from theatre visits to Stratford, to trips to Paris, Rome or Barcelona.
Enterprise
Bolton St Catherine’s Academy is a Business and Enterprise specialist academy. You will be able to engage with local, national and international businesses to build a portfolio of skills in line with your career aspirations.
Other Opportunities
Within Bolton St Catherine’s Sixth Form College, there are more opportunities offered to students such as a free course of BSM off-road Driving Lessons where students can undertake driving practice in a safe environment.
There is also the opportunity for students to obtain a certification in both Sign Language, Life Saving and the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. This provides our students with both valuable and enjoyable experiences at the Bolton St Catherine’s Academy.
