Food Hygiene Success for Year 11 and 13 Students

12 students from Year 11 and Year 13 gave up part of their holidays’, last Autumn half-term to study for their Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Mr Alcock put them through a rigorous and highly intensive full 2 days of training before they completed the exam and then had a long wait for their results !

Today was the day – the brown envelope arrived, it looked promising ….. fairly thick and cardboard on one side. A good sign everyone thought. The envelope was opened with great trepidation and certificates came tumbling out.

We wish to congratulate Shannon Barr, Pasleigh Stewart and Whitney Butterworth from Year 13 and, Darryl Gagg, Nathan Harry, Hayden Howarth, Teresa Lomas, Kieran McCormack, Declan Smyth, Natasha Stewart, Aaron Walsh and Ashley Whittaker from Year 11 on achieving the award.

More success followed for Kieran McCormack, Daryl Gagg, Declan Smyth and Nathan Harry who also passed the Level 2 Award in Food Allergen Awareness.

The qualifications will not only help the students with courses in school – Hospitality and, Health and Social Care but will help them gain employment.
