Thank you to Turton Rotary Club

We are delighted that once again Turton Rotary Club are sponsoring two of our Year 10 pupils, Molly and Oliver to undertake a five day residential course in Leadership. By undertaking the course they will

  • Gain exposure to leadership scenarios
  • Explore problem-solving strategies as part of a team
  • Discuss and apply creative approaches to leadership and conflict management
  • Build confidence in themselves and what they can achieve
  • Meet new people and make lasting friendships
  • Learn how to arrange youth activities and community service projects locally and internationally

Being a leader is not just about being confident enough to speak out and knowing what to say, it is knowing when to listen to others and understand. RYLA teaches this, and other soft skills, to help everyone to be the best they can be.

Teamwork exercises bring people together from different walks of life in a safe environment where everyone can get to know each other without fear of exclusion or negativity.

We are very proud of our pupils who attended a meal with the Rotarians at one of their weekly meetings and stood in front of a room full of strangers to introduce themselves and explain what they hope to gain from the course.

We look forward to seeing what they get up to on the residential over the summer.
