"They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need" - Acts 2:45

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

The week we are supporting Christian Aid in school as our chosen international charity. In the verse above, the bible shows us how the church existed to give to one another as was needed. But not only did they simply give to one another, they sold things so that they could give. It cost them something personally so that they could give to others. To give anything whether it costs you or not, is incredible, but there is something extra special about the type of giving which has costs you something. Its an above and beyond kind of giving. A giving that comes from a real selfless heart.

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK

Tomorrow in school we are doing a bake sale across all lunchtimes, to raise money for Christian Aid. We want to ask you as our staff team to support us by bringing shop bought cakes in for us to sell. The act of you going to a shop tonight will cost you your time, your energy and of course your money; but this kind of giving is what the bible is talking about. Let's be a community of staff that do that 'above and beyond' kind of giving.
