Voices Together’ Gala Concert

Our school choir took part in the ‘Voices Together’ Gala Concert on Tuesday 2nd July, alongside other secondary schools in Bolton and Blackburn and Darwen. This annual event celebrates the vocal talents of our youngsters and gives them an opportunity to display all of the hard work put in throughout the year.

BSCA choir performed ‘I’ll Be There’ by Jess Glynne, with a solo by Elisha Slack in Year 10. Our Year 12 Performing Arts pupils, Jasmine Philpott and Josh Evans, then performed a stunning rendition of ‘Last Night of the World’ from Miss Saigon.

Our pupils also joined with the other schools to perform in 4 parts, ‘Ipharadisi’, ‘Running Home to You’, and ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, which featured Lucy McDermott.

The pupils represented our Academy wonderfully and were determined to succeed. They looked and sounded amazing, and were a credit to the school.

Hannela Oti said of her experience: “It was really fun to sing with other schools and perform in front of an audience."

Elisha Slack commented: “Singing a solo at the concert really helped to boost my confidence. I also enjoyed listening to the other school’s choirs.
