Year 11 Football Cup Final

The Year 11 Cup Final was held at Old Boltonians FC on Friday 3rd May - BSCA Vs St James's.

The team and managers were pleased that it was well attended by staff, including Mr Whittaker, who after leaving St James's last year had mixed emotions on who he wanted to win.

The team showed an incredible spirit throughout the game, representing the school with pride, passion and respect, and could not have conducted themselves in a better fashion.

The game was a tough one, with St James's showing some real class. Sadly, the boys, despite their best efforts, lost the final 1-0.

Man of the Match was by far Martin McCarthy, who on several occasions kept BSCA in the tie with some world class goalkeeping, especially on a couple of 1v1 situations.

Despite the team being disappointed, it was a massive achievement to reach the final and they showed St James's and the rest of Bolton that BSCA are not a school to be underestimated.

Managers Mr Clarke and Mr Houldsworth are extremely proud of all who played, and Mrs Lucas added "a great match with a super atmosphere, and the boys really did Bolton St Catherine's Academy proud with their efforts."
