As it is International Women's Day we would like to introduce you to some of our inspirational women at Bolton St Catherine's Academy.

Miss Rushton makes sport easy for everyone to access whatever their ages or level of ability from encouraging community groups to use our facilities out of the school day, bringing new sports to the Academy or making PE lessons work for everyone.

Lydia Saunders and Sophie Willis excel with their work for AppsforGood and this evening Sophie in her Ambassadorial role will be the national host for their Twitter hour.

Ellie Percival competes at national level for Futures Cheerleaders and is representing Great Britain in Atlanta, USA next month.

Miss Farrell and Miss Ibrahim recently visited Cern in Switzerland as part of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and work hard to promote STEM careers for women.

Miss Thompson plays women's rugby competitively out of school and whilst at work can often be found encouraging young people to take part in sport.

Lara Perrigo joined Bolton Trampolining Club at the age of 4 and competes regularly in competitions at national level.

I know we have more inspirational women in our building but please remember to celebrate all women and wish them every success in life.
