Four students (pictured below) - Georgina Sunderland, Chelsea Mojsej, Dylan Rowlands and Alecs Ferguson – all year 6 - took part in Round 1 of the National Young Mathematicians 2015 Competition as a team on Tuesday of last week.

The competition is held in partnership with the University of Cambridge and NRICH.

They are THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND, along with other successful teams from schools including Bury Grammar school. The feedback they received from the judges was very positive – they worked well as a team, worked methodically and with a systematic approach and were able to articulate to the judges what they worked out, the methods they used and why they did it the way they did.

We are really proud of them. If they get through this next round, they will go to the final at the University of Cambridge before Christmas!
