Exploring Careers in the Health Service

Five year 10 students attended an Interactive Insight Day on Careers in the Health Service at Manchester Royal Infirmary on Monday 24th April 2017. The students took part in many interactive workshops which showcased the role of professionals in healthcare including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and dietetics.

In each of the workshops, the students were provided with different scenarios before being allowed to sample the various liquid diets used in health care settings, 'try-out' the various aids used to support the patients in hospital, as well as at home, and experience some of the techniques used to ease and support the patients' movement.

Apart from finding the sessions really informative, the students thoroughly enjoyed the day and found that it exceeded their expectations.
