Sixth form Law Visit

Mr Broadbent, the Sixth Form Law tutor took all the Year 12 and 13 ‘A’ level Law students out to visit Bolton Crown Court and Bolton Magistrates Court. The aim of the visit was to help them understand in practice and, gain first-hand experience of the justice system. They had spent hours reading textbooks, listening to lectures and had taken plenty of notes so now the opportunity to see it in reality had arrived.

The reality of what actually happens in court certainly came to life whilst sitting in the public gallery in the Magistrates Court a domestic violence case was being heard and the into Crown Court to see a dangerous driving case being heard.

Lewis Jon Pickering from the Sixth Form said  “I learnt a lot on the trip and have come away with first-hand experience of the way the courts work”
