Extra Curriculum Activities

At BSCA we off a variety of before school, lunch time and after school clubs, as well as sports team, choir and music clubs. Students can also start their own groups with support from a member of staff.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness / Mental Health and Emotional Support

Choir
Come and join our singing fun on a Monday! We perform throughout the year at various events at school and with other schools in Bolton. You do not have to sing on your own unless you want to. If you are interested in Music, then singing is a fantastic way to improve your musical ability.

Geography club
Geography club is a place for students to show their passion for Geography and learn about the world we live in. The club will provide opportunities for trips as well as learning vital map skills and locations of important countries. Students will also learn skills which support the Geography GCSE. They will have opportunities to get involved in initiatives which help to improve the world we live in. For example Eco-bricks, climate change discussions and recycling projects.

Ethos Group meets every Wednesday and focusses on how we can develop as individuals and as a school, within our 4 school values. Together we plan projects which has impact on our assemblies, form times, and charity fundraising.

Keyboard Club
Keyboard club is for anyone who wants to rehearse their keyboard pieces from lessons or have a go at some new pieces that gradually increase in challenge. It is a relaxed club where we aim to have some fun!

Debate Society Club
You will be given a theme to research either ‘for’ or ‘against’. You will then present your arguments during a structured debate. Debate society can help you to improve your democracy skills and to help build confidence in public speaking. Recent debates have included:
‘Should the UK bring back the death penalty?’
‘Does electronic gaming lead to criminality?’
