Ofsted Reports

You will be aware that the Academy was inspected by Ofsted just before the May half term holiday. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who completed the Parent View questionnaire and the many parents who have expressed support for all we are doing at the Academy to further improve.

We are pleased that we have improved two thirds of the school to a strong GOOD grade and from the most recent improvements we are expecting the remaining secondary section to be at this level within the next 12 months. They have judged this section of the school to be requiring improvement which they define as “a school that is not yet a good school, but it is not inadequate.”

Rates of progress are improving, especially in the important areas of English and Maths, and the achievements of pupils currently in school indicates that actions taken by staff are having a positive impact.

We are happy that Ofsted recognise the improvements we have made in the quality of teaching, and proud of the judgement that the work on personal development and welfare is good. We are equally proud of their confirmation that pupils behave well in lessons and around school.

The historic results of the school limit the available judgements, which is why we feel that the further progress and improvement Ofsted have recognised are important to demonstrate our journey, both present and future. The report reflects our own judgements and will help form part of our overall plan for further improvements.
