Provider Access Statement

Introduction

This statement sets out the Academy's arrangements for managing the access of providers to students at the academy for the purpose of giving them information about the provider's education or training offer. This complies with the Academy's legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997. Bolton St Catherine's Academy is developing very fast and we would like external agencies on board supporting us through this journey to achieve the best for our students.

Pupil Entitlement

All students in Year 7 – 13 are entitled:

  • To engage with a range of local providers about the opportunities they offer, including technical education and apprenticeships – through events, assemblies, form time, group discussions and taster events.
  • To find out about technical education qualifications and apprenticeship opportunities, as part of a careers programme which provides information on a full range of education and training options available at each transition point
  • To understand how to make applications for the full range of academic and technical course; including apprenticeship.

Opportunities for access

We would like our students to develop high aspirations and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers. Inspiring every student through more real-life contacts with the world of work and further education establishments that can help them to understand where different choices can take them in the future. A number of events, integrated in to the school's programme, will offer providers an opportunity to come in to the Academy to speak to students/or their parents/carers.
