Code of Conduct Agreement

At Bolton St Catherine’s Sixth Form College, we see every student’s education as a partnership which is based on a firm agreement between the College, the student and their parent/guardian. The agreement is intended to give students a clear understanding of what they can expect from the College and what will be required of them.

COLLEGE AGREEMENT

We at the Bolton St Catherine’s Academy Sixth Form College promise to:

  • Keep you and your parents/guardians informed of your progress through verbal and written reports
  • Set appropriate work regularly
  • Provide a curriculum with nationally recognised qualifications
  • Provide a caring and supportive environment
  • Provide opportunities for you to experience responsibility in the Sixth Form
  • Provide guidance meetings with Personal Tutors
  • Provide enriching and extra-curricular experiences
  • Provide Higher Education and careers advice

STUDENT AGREEMENT

I promise to:

  • Attend registration punctually and ensure my presence is recorded.
  • Attend assemblies
  • Use the signing in/signing out system
  • Attend College regularly, aiming for at least 98%, including all lessons of my chosen course, enrichment, assemblies and personal tutor time
  • Be punctual to lessons
  • Provide a note to explain any absence
  • Book appointments and holidays outside College time
  • Use a mobile phone and laptop in a mature and sensible manner

Code of Conduct

Students will:

  • Show respect and good manners at all times with consideration for others
  • Conduct themselves in a quiet and sensible manner around the Academy and College, showing respect for the furniture and fabric of the premises.
  • Dress in accordance with the Sixth Form Dress Code.
  • Accept the responsibility given to sixth formers, always acting as role models to younger members of the Academy.

Code of Work 

Students are expected to:

  • Be punctual to lessons and be ready to work with all relevant equipment and materials
  • Keep up-to-date with work, particularly work missed through absence
  • Complete and hand in all coursework and assignments on time
  • Make sensible use of study time working in the Sixth Form area
  • Make positive use of the enrichment time
  • Not allow part-time employment to affect College work or attendance
  • Use Personal Tutor Support in a constructive manner

  

STUDENTS MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SIXTH FORM IF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MET. STUDENTS’ ENTRY TO PUBLIC EXAMINATIONS IS ALSO DEPENDENT ON THEM MEETING THE EXPECTATIONS SET OUT ABOVE.
