Our specialism in Mathematics allows us to develop competent and confident mathematicians and to use this as a mechanism to improve performance across the curriculum. Investment in this area means that new technologies support and enhance learning in mathematics and across the curriculum.
Bolton St Catherine’s Academy is the First and currently only Academy with Leadership as a specialism. This is not only typified by our commitment to develop top quality leaders within our staff but permeates all aspects of the Academy. The development of leadership skills in our students is a priority for all learning areas, this is manifest not only in the skills taught but in accredited courses such as young sports leaders. All students are encouraged to take advantage of a range of leadership opportunities within and outside the Academy. These opportunities include prefect and lead student roles as well as a range of ‘leadership’ opportunities in the academy community and service programmes.
Business and enterprise as well as being a subject on the curriculum is also an ethos and approach to life and the application of those skills associated with enterprise. Determination, resilience and self confident along with measured risk taking and clear aspirations are all attributes we aim to develop and nurture.
