Remote Education (Primary)

Remote education will only be used when it is not possible, or is contrary to government guidance, for pupils to attend school in person. This may include occasions when the school is closed, access to the school site is restricted, or where the school has agreed that remote education is appropriate for a pupil or group of pupils who cannot attend school but are able to continue learning.

Where remote education is required, the school will provide work that is suitable for pupils’ age, stage and curriculum. This may include work set through the school’s usual digital platforms, printed materials, online resources, or other appropriate learning activities, depending on the circumstances and the needs of the pupil.

The school will communicate directly with parents, carers and pupils if remote education is needed. This will include how work will be set, how pupils should access it, and how support can be requested.

Remote education is not a substitute for regular attendance at school. It will not normally be provided for routine absence, term-time holidays, or where a pupil is too unwell to learn. The school remains committed to supporting pupils to attend school in person wherever this can be safely and reasonably achieved.
