Welcome to Nursery

“No job is more important than working with children in the early years.”

This is how the DfE Development Matters guidance document (September 2023) opens and is a firmly held belief here at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy EYFS (BSCA).

Children can start their learning journey with us at BSCA from the age of 3 in our nursery. At age 3 all children are entitled to 15 hours free child care per week. Some children are eligible for 30 hours.

We aim to offer your child a variety of high-quality experiences and activities designed to further their individual development.

We provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children feel happy and secure. Our experienced team encourage the emotional, personal, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of the children. We also encourage positive attitudes to self and others whilst developing confidence and self-esteem through communication skills.

We believe children learn best through play and exploration. Children are allowed to discover for themselves alongside adult led learning including small group activities.

We have full and part time places. Children attend either mornings, afternoons or full day:

  • Morning Nursery 8.45am-11.45am
  • Afternoon Nursery 12.20pm-3.20pm (Tuesday 12.20pm to 3.00pm)
  • Full Day 8.45am-3.20pm

We have a specialist outdoor provision. This includes a climbing frame, wooden balancing equipment and activities under glass canopy for inclement weather. By working together as a stage we are able to meet the individual requirements of our children more closely.
