In this busy Christmas season, I find that I am constantly going from one task to the next without pausing to rest or celebrate. In Genesis chapter 1 when God created the world, He sets the example of celebrating at the end of every day. I am a firm believer in celebrating all the highs and lows of life, no matter how big or small. It takes a conscious decision to choose to stop and celebrate, especially when we need to find something to celebrate within a bad situation.

With the term coming to a close, we are celebrating all aspects of the academy within 2018. From attendance to engagement, and from charity work to attitude to learning (amidst all the other things). This is so important, but our challenge is to cultivate the habit of celebrating after every day, just as God did in Genesis 1.  Why don't we make a decision today that in 2019, we'll learn to celebrate something at the end of every day. Not only will this help keep our minds healthy, but it will go on to have a positive impact in the school.

It could be that you write down 2 positives from each day, share a highlight with another person, or even treat yourself to something. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas,  let's find other things that we can celebrate too...EVERYDAY.
