Summer 2020 Results - Amazing outcomes in difficult circumstances
The Summer 2020 results for students at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy have been fantastic. All academic year this year group have worked really hard, striving to achieve their best:
- Progress 8 - 0.38
- Attainment 8 - 3.89
- English and Maths grade 4+ - 49.6%
- English and Maths grade 5+ - 24.6%
- Entered for Ebacc - 8.8%
- Achieving the Ebacc - 7.3%
Our additional Maths sessions, WINs, have had amazing attendance and they have really grasped learning and hard work in abundance. That is why we are so pleased with the results they achieved this year, in what has been a very strange and difficult year for students at school.
- This year 50% of our year 11 students have passed both Maths and English with 25% achieve the stronger pass of a grade 5.
- The Ebacc subjects did fantastically well with –
- Science achieving 60% of students at their target grade or better
- French 66%
- History 64%
- Geography 72%
- Computer science 100%.
These results are some of the best results we have had for these subjects. On average every subject had approximately 60% of students achieving their target grade or better.
On an individual basis we had some amazing success stories with one of our students achieving four grade 9’s (which places them in the top 3% in the country), four grade 8’s and two grade 7.
Our students’ application, hard work and effort during their time at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy have led to results that they can be extremely proud of. We are very pleased and proud that the class of 2020 has shown the true desire and grit to be successful in what has been a very challenging 2020. Well done to you all from the BSCA family.
