We have sent home important information to help make the transition process as productive and supportive as possible for you and your child. You MUST complete, sign and return in the pre addressed envelope no later than 15th June 2020.

Transition Events - currently postponed


Welcome Tour Sign.pngWednesday 11th and Thursday 12th March @ 9.30am

We are holding parent and student sessions to enable you to:

  • Meet our Head teacher Mrs Lucas, Deputy Head Mr Whittaker and Head of Year 7/Transition coordinator Miss O'Donnell for a question and answer session.
  • Take a tour of the school.

The sessions are being held at 9.30am, you will need to arrive at our Main Entrance on Stitch-Mi-Lane, BL2 4HU.

Visiting your child's school - March - June

Between March and June a member of our Transition Team will visit your child's school to talk to all the children that are moving to BSCA in September to introduce ourselves and answer any questions. It will also give us the opportunity to speak to your child's teacher so that we are prepared for them joing us in September.


Senior Leadership Meetings – 15th – 19th June

Week commencing 15th June we would like to invite you and your child to an informal meeting with one of our Senior Leadership Team.

The purpose of this meeting is to enable you to personally meet a member of the senior leadership team, discuss your child's first year at BSCA and for you to ask any questions that you may have. This is a compulsory meeting as it is key to fully supporting and preparing both your child and yourself for a smooth transition from primary to secondary school.

In addition to this you will be required to:

  • Bring a completed Data Collection and Permissions Form if you have not returned this before.
  • Your child's ID – birth certificate, passport or identity card.
  • If applicable, you will be able to complete a Health Care Plan for your child if they have any medical conditions that may affect them in school.


Induction Day Image.pngInduction Day – Friday 3rd July – 9.15am – 2.45pm

On Friday 3rd July, we will be holding your child's Induction Day.

This is where your child will be released from their current Primary School to spend the day with us at BSCA. During the day they will:

  • Experience a day as a student at BSCA.
  • Meet fellow students in their year group.
  • Meet Miss O'Donnell, Year 7 Leader.
  • Find out what form they will be in and meet their Form Tutor.
  • Visit different subjects, and find out the kind of lessons you will be having.


Transition Evening – Monday 6th July – 5.00pm – 6.30pm

On Monday 6th July we will be holding a Transition Evening where students will be taking part in fun team activities aimed at helping them to get to know their new year group and form tutor.
