BSCA celebrates double national award winners

The Academy has worked closely with Apps For Good since 2011 when Mr Kemp watched a tv programme  that featured Debbie Forster, their CEO talking about an innovative course which teaches young people to create apps that change their world.   Being so inspired by her he went away and researched how he could become involved in their work and the Academy became involved not only with our students but he also trained and acted as a mentor to other teachers.

Thanks to Mr Kemp's work Sophie Willis, who is now in Year 11 became so totally inspired by the work and encouraging other young people into IT she became a Fellow, not only attending national conferences but regularly hosting online sessions with other young people across the UK. Lydia Saunders, also in Year 11 is also an Apps For Good Fellow and both of them are due to host online sessions over the next few weeks.

For the work both Mr Kemp and Sophie have done they have been awarded national recognition and are due to go to London to collect their awards.

Congratulations to Mr Kemp - Educator of the Year and Sophie Willis Fellow of the Year
