Sixth Form Law Group Visit to Manchester Courts
On Friday 9th December, our Sixth form’s A level and BTEC law students visited Manchester Magistrates’ Court and Manchester Crown Court. This annual visit to the courts helps to provide the students with experiences of criminal case proceedings in the courts, which is a key part of their study for both courses. As the students witnessed real cases being tried, and even sentences being passed, it allowed their studies to be put into perspective and demonstrated the reality of the English Legal System in action.
Mellissa Greer, who attended the trip, said, “The trip has allowed me to understand further the roles of the personnel working within the different courts and the hard work they undertake to ensure that justice is served effectively and fairly.”
