Year 6 ‘Venture’ #Y6IOM17

Mr Partington, Mr Hill and Miss Lister and Year 6 set off on a gloriously warm and sunny Sunday for their adventure to the Isle of Man. From the moment they left Bolton by coach life became a whole new set of experiences with a stop off for food at the famous ‘M’, seeing the Liver buildings in Liverpool and finally setting off across the Irish Sea to the ‘Legs of Man’.

Everyone soon settled into the ‘Venture Centre’ situated in the rolling farm land nestling close to   North Barrule and only five minutes from the secluded beach at Port e Vullen. The centre has over 30 years of experience delivering high quality adventure holidays with a wide range of outdoor activities.

Everyone soon settled into their accommodation in the converted buildings of Lewaigue Farm. After a long first night with too many excited children and breakfast eaten the activities began. Archery, den building, abseiling, outdoor cooking on an open fire, kayaking and team building exercises. The students were divided into Team Phoenix and Team Tiger both experiencing some highs and lows! Everyone did agree that it had been the most phenomenal experience of their life so far.

Sadly the trip ended and everyone retraced their steps back to Bolton – with many more memories that will last forever.
