Exam Information

BSCA know how vital it is to prepare our students well for their GCSE's, and this starts in Year 7. All our teaching, resources and support will lead our students to believe in themselves and strive to do the best they can.

This section has let you know the different resources and support we provide our students to achieve their goals, but one very important part of developing our young people is through practicing sitting exams and approaching them as though they were real exams so that they get used to:

  • revision – exploring different techniques that work for the individual
  • mental and physical preparation
  • the environment during the exam
  • the conditions that are part of exams
  • develop your exam technique.

At the end of the exams it gives both students and teachers a benchmark of where you are, set your next targets and enables both of you to identify specific areas where more work is required.

The grades you are aiming to achieve may also be affected by your current chosen career path, the college course you are aspiring to do, or simply which subjects your enjoy, so by doing PPE or mock exams, it will help you determine which subjects and topics you need to worker harder on to achieve your current goals.

Results Day

Date TBC – Restaurant via Stitch-Mi-Lane main entrance

Students can come into school for collection of their results. If students wish a nominated person to collect their results, we must receive this in writing before they can collect.

Parents are more than welcome to attend with their child. We will also take the opportunity to capture the day with fellow students, parents or teachers who will be there to celebrate the student's success.

There will be opportunities to collect after results day, but this will be limited and depend on when staff are in school, so you will need to contact school and arrange a day and time.

Distribution of Certificates

Students will be invited to attend our Certificate Presentation, usually one evening in December in the Main Hall. Students and parents will be invited.

Students not able to attend have 12 months to collect their certificates after the date of the Presentation Evening from our Main Reception .

This can be done 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday during term time. Students can nominate another person to collect their certificates but we must be informed who that nominated person is and they will be required to provide identification when they collect.
