Post-16 Information and Support

Supporting Bolton St Catherine's Academy students through uncertain times

During this uncertain time, I wanted to get in touch to let you know what Bolton St Catherine's Academy is doing to support you as we adapt to an ever-changing situation regarding COVID-19 and government restrictions affecting our activity.

Many of you will have already made applications to college, 6th form, universities, apprenticeship and employment opportunities. Those of you awaiting interview for any of the above will no doubt be contacted by the providers or employer at some point informing you of the plan moving forward once things become clearer in light of the Corona virus situation. If you have not applied anywhere as yet, please do not panic, you can still do so. Although we cannot say when your interview will be, you will at least be in the colleges' administration system for when they are back up and running.

Unfortunately, due to the continued social distancing measures in place, we will be unable to run our career activities and events in June and July. We are working hard to find alternative methods of providing the information and resources needed to support our students as you consider your future opportunities. The CEIAG section of the school website now has an extensive amount of post-16 information you need at this stage, such as; presentations, taking part in live chats, master classes, virtual tours, virtual open days, virtual visits, links to colleges and apprenticeships, and resources to help you transition on to the next stage of your career.

If you have any questions or need any advice or support with your options, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me as I am still available to provide online help and support with applications as well as anything careers, or post-16 options related.
